WTF!!! ORedspiral0…seriously…I don’t want to pay higher monthly fees because iphones (the Hummer of smartphones) are sucking up all the bandwidth. Carriers don’t pay for the network upgrades/investments…their customers do! There is no such thing as a free lunch.

This is good to know. I’m glad that BlackBerries require less data, even with their new browser kit getting geared for launch. This means that I won’t get dinged as hard with roaming data fees in comparison to other smartphones, which to me (and to all other travelers) makes BlackBerry the obvious choice.

This is a smart business decision for Blackberry… they can (and will) sale more units… with the actual network infrastructure. The carriers will encourage people to use more Blackberries… because of their efficiency. We will have a better mobile experience and they will make more money. Smart move. I’m a MacUser but I own a Blackberry because the iPhone does not handle e-mails as efficient as my Bold does. Bye, CGuevara
